Bucofa develops certified and distinctive clothing for the food industry 8-12-2011
The STFI has approved, according to the DIN 10524 food hygiene standard, the new Bucofa Food workwear collection (overalls, jackets and trousers) for the food industry. The subtle use of piping in these clothes makes them stand out. The piping can be given a contrasting colour so that the clothes can become part of your corporate identity. The modified models which include the piping passed the STFI's tests with flying colours.
DIN and STFI The food industry has drawn up guidelines (HACCP) with which food processors have to comply (for hygiene purposes). Risk assessments in the food industry focus on process control to prevent food contamination. HACCP guidelines contain practically no requirements for the role (or design) of food clothing.
German industry has developed clothing regulations which are laid down in DIN standard 10524. The STFI tests and approves clothing for the food industry in accordance with this standard. DIN 10524 certification confirms that the respective clothing ensures that hygiene is guaranteed. In practice, this means that the clothing has to be easily washable and must not have any pockets, pleats and/or edges. The clothing does not protect the wearer against risks, but reduces the risk of contamination in food processing.
